i cant believe i fell for it.

cant believe i took the bait

and before i knew what hit me

it was boom check-mate

 

and as i fall to my doom

as i fall to my demise.

i look up, and see you

right in front of my eyes

 

so i sit here stunned

pondering the cruel betrayal

my life is out of order

my train has been derailed

 

so i stand here angry

saying its you who is to blame

then i remember that old saying,

life is only a game.

 

just a game, just for fun

with all of my pawns in place

yet before i could make a move

i already lost the race.

 

so i have failed, as you see

for i simply could not win.

so i sit, and i wait

for my chance to play again.

This frail reminder of its giant, dreaming self
While i, with human-hindered eyes
Unequal to the sweeping curve of life
Stand on this single print of time
